SPECIAL NOTE:

At Personal Eyes, we take eye protection seriously.  At least 90% of sports eye injuries can be prevented by wearing eye protection. In addition, many young athletes have found that the extra protection actually enhances their concentration and alleviates their fear of injuries so they play better.  To that end, we have chosen to become a "Sports Injury Prevention Center" through Liberty Sport, the manufacturer of Rec-Specs.

Statistics

Every year, hospital emergency departments throughout the country treat over 45,000 sports-related and recreational eye injuries. More than half are suffered by children.

Eye injuries are often the result of a high-speed ball, aggressive body contact or a moving piece of sports equipment. Young players often lack the reflexes, coordination, strength or experience to avoid these eye hazards.

When properly fitted, appropriate eye protection such as batting helmets with face maskes and eye goggles, can reduce the risk of eye injuries by at least 90%
